Here's why it's a mixed review

The location is amazing, offering amazing views of Lake Lugano! The breakfast is diverse and beautifully laid out, satisfying all tastes.

There was a lack of privacy due to connecting balconies, and some staff members provided disappointing service.

Would stay here again when in Lugano, it was an excellent stay. Welcoming staff, INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL views of the beautiful lake, everything is great. Its location very close to the heart of Lugano is great and beautiful. The twin room is functional and modern.

Fine views from the premium balcony room.

I was disappointed with the outdated furniture that felt worn and uncomfortable. The bed was unusually low and gave me sleepless nights due to its firmness. The lack of a bar forced us to seek drinks elsewhere, inconvenient in the rain.

Marvellous and unbeatable location including a train station nearby the place. In the busy area with restaurants and bars close to the hotel...

Location, cleaniness, helpfulness of staff

Staying as a solo traveler for 2 nights, I couldn't get enough of the breakfast buffet-so many tasty options to choose from! The view from my Single Room with Lake View and Balcony was jaw-dropping. Plus, the hotel had a coupon book for local activities , made exploring even more fun!

Now, the wet side wasn't as smooth sailing. The shower cubicle felt a bit cramped. On a third floor, I still heard traffic noise whenever I wanted to enjoy the fresh air from the balcony.

Location and lake view.

Bed, pillow and room which by the way requires urgent renovation&paint job. Bathroom was OK however the bath tub was so small as if it was built by a dwarf for midget guests!

We liked reasonably large and functional rooms and fine food.

The property was in the center of the city. The room was separate, and we had an incredibly beautiful view of lake.

The luxurious rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi offered an amazing view of the lake and was the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring Lugano.

The shower cubicle's location in proximity to the bedroom made for a rather unconventional setup.

Very welcoming, helpful and efficient staff. Comfortable room of good quality. An hotel of fairly traditional character in a convenient position for lake and town centre.

Wonderful! Simply wonderful!! The hotel location was right in the center, close to boat station and to the main city sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was so rich!! There was also a jacuzzi service avaliable right on the roof... And there was a stunning view from the balcony to the lake! I decided, when I get back to Lugano, I will definetely stop in this hotel again!

The balcony provided stunning views of Lake Lugano, perfect for morning coffee. The historic charm of the hotel made it feel like stepping back in time, complemented by the friendly and helpful staff.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They always greeted you with a smile and Buongiorno. The room wasn't overly large, but we got four large suitcases in there with no problem and it was probably the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Free wireless internet connection in the room. The view was beautiful overlooking the lake and mountains and having the balcony was nice to sit out on and watch what was going on across the street along the lakefront. The breakfast was good and quite filling. The hotel was close to all types of shopping and we were able to find everything we needed for my daughter before she started school there in Lugano. Good restaurants close by.

The traffic noise late at night or early in the morning. The pillows were hard and not comfortable.
